Majandusajakiri The Economist kirjutab, et pärast Euroopa Liiduga liitumist uuendused tahaplaanile jätnud Balti riigid peavad nüüd globaalse majanduslanguse tingimustes hakkama reformide osas kaotatud aega tagasi tegema. Muuhulgas tõstab Economist esile, et Eestis toppab endiselt kohalike omavalitsuste reform, mis oleks tulnud juba ammu läbi viia.
